Cairo Hamas–Fatah Agreement (2012)
An agreement between Hamas and Fatah signed in Cairo, Egypt, on 20 May 2012. The agreement set 27 May as the date for both the formation of an interim national unity government and the start of voter registration for upcoming presidential and legislative elections, under the terms of the Doha Declaration. The agreement was never implemented, and a unity government was finally formed in June 2014, two months following another Fatah-Hamas reconciliation agreement.
