A declaration by the Swedish Government, made on 30 October 2014, consisting of an official recognition of the State of Palestine and a decision to triple bilateral aid within five years. The left-wing minority government of Prime Minister Stefan Löfven was sworn in less than a month beforehand. The decision was announced in proximity to five non-binding resolutions supporting recognition of Palestine adopted by parliaments of European states, followed in December 2014 by a similar resolution adopted by the European Parliament.
