United Nations Security Council Resolution 1397 (2002)
A resolution adopted by the United Nations Security Council on 12 March 2002, by a vote of 14 For, 0 Against, 1 Abstaining (Syria). Recalling Resolutions 242 and 338 and reaffirming the Security Council's commitment to the two-state solution, the resolution decried the violence associated with the ongoing Second Intifada, called for an immediate ceasefire and encouraged both sides to implement the Mitchell Report and Tenet Plan.
