A statement made by PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat on 14 December 1988 at a press conference in Geneva, Switzerland. Arafat reiterated the PLO’s acceptance of Resolutions 181, 242 and 338 and renunciation of all forms of terrorism. He offered a commitment to peace and declared that all outstanding issues should be resolved in the context of an international conference. Nevertheless, he also stressed that neither he nor anyone cannot stop the Intifada, which would only end upon the establishment of a Palestinian state.
