Relocation of Knesset to Jerusalem (1949)
A resolution adopted by the Knesset on 13 December 1949, confirming Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion's notice on the relocation of the Government of Israel and the Knesset to Jerusalem. The Israeli parliament had begun its work in Jerusalem in February 1949, but the reality of the 1948 War forced its temporary relocation to Tel Aviv. The resolution was adopted following Ben-Gurion's proclamation reaffirming Jerusalem's position as capital of Israel and rejecting UNGA Resolution 303. The first session of the Knesset in Jerusalem following the resolution took place on 26 December 1949.
