US President Bush's Speech and the Joint Statement at the Annapolis Conference (2007)
A statement made by US President George Bush at the conclusion of the Annapolis Conference in Annapolis, MD, on 27 November 2008, during which he also read a joint statement by the conference participants. The joint statement expressed both sides' commitment to negotiations with the goal of reaching a settlement based on the two-state principle by the end of 2008 and to honor their obligations under the Road Map for Peace. Bush offered strong support to the negotiation process and called on both sides, as well as Arab states and the international community, to play their part.
