Camp David Summit (2000)
A summit meeting held at Camp David, MD, between an Israeli delegation headed by Prime Minister Ehud Barak and a Palestinian delegation headed by PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat, sponsored by US President Bill Clinton. The purpose of the summit was to reach a permanent settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as the culmination of the Oslo Process. However, the summit ended without an agreement, with the Second Intifada breaking out several weeks later.
