United Nations Security Council Resolution 73 (1949)
A resolution adopted by the United Nations Security Council on 11 August 1949 by a vote of 9 For, 2 Abstaining (Soviet Union and Ukraine). The resolution expressed satisfaction at the conclusion of the armistice agreements ending the 1948 War, and asked that Arab-Israeli negotiations be continued with the goal of reaching a permanent settlement based on UN General Assembly Resolution 194.
