A drawing made by PNA President Mahmoud Abbas, allegedly representing a rough outline of a map presented to him by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert during negotiations as part of the Annapolis Process in Jerusalem on 16 September 2008. News media reported that Olmert refused to allow Abbas to retain the original map unless the latter initialed it, and Abbas later drew the outline from memory. The map, as drawn by Abbas, presents a possible Palestinian-Israeli territorial settlement based on the 1967 lines, with territorial exchange amounting to 5.5% of the West Bank territory, allowing Israel to retain settlement blocs in the Ariel area, around Jerusalem and in Gush Etzion. In return, the Palestinians would receive Israeli territory adjacent to the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
