Palestine (Western or Wailing Wall) Order in Council, 1931

An Order in Council, or type of primary legislation, pertaining to Palestine and enacted in the name of King George V on 19 May 1931. Pursuant to a League of Nations resolution of 14 January 1930 concerning the rights of Jews and Muslims with regard to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, and to the work of a commission appointed following the resolution, this order determined that the Wall is under full Muslim ownership as part of Al-Haram al-Sharif compound, but guaranteed free access for Jews to the Wall for the purpose of prayer, under certain conditions.
