Operation Accountability (1993)

An Israeli military operation in South Lebanon that took place on 25-31 July 1993. Following months of sporadic clashes between Israeli forces in Lebanon and Yitzhak Rabin ordered air raids, artillery strikes and commando operations against Hezbollah targets in Lebanese villages. The operation ended after a week of fighting, in which three Israelis and over 100 Lebanese were killed, with both sides agreeing not to target civilians. Low-intensity conflict resumed shortly after the conclusion of the operation, leading in 1996 to the similar Operation Grapes of Wrath.
