A resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 4 July 1967 by a vote of 99 For, 0 Against, 20 Abstaining, 3 Absent. It denounced Israel's activities in Jerusalem following the Six Day War, such as the annexation of East Jerusalem, and called on it to refrain from further actions affecting the political status of the city. Resolution 2254, adopted ten days later, then deplored Israel's non-compliance with Resolution 2253 and reiterated the call to maintain the status quo in Jerusalem.
