A resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 14 October 1974 by a vote of 105 For, 4 Against (including Israel and the United States), 20 Abstaining, 9 Absent. The resolution invited the PLO to participate in the General Assembly debate on the question of Palestine. The following month, the PLO was accorded observer status in the UN.
