Saudi Crown Prince Fahd's Eight-Point Plan (1981)

An eight-point plan proposed by Saudi Crown Prince Fahd on 7 August 1981, less than a year before his accession to the throne. The plan called for a complete Israeli withdrawal from all territories occupied during the 1967 Six Day War, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state under PLO leadership with Jerusalem as its capital, a right for Palestinian refugees to return to their homes or receive compensation, and UN backing in implementation of these measures. The Fahd Plan is similar to the Fez Plan, adopted in 1982 by the Arab League.
