Irish Senate Motion on Recognizing Palestine (2014)

A motion adopted without debate by the Irish Seanad (Senate) on 22 October 2014, with the following text: "That Seanad Éireann calls on the Government to formally recognise the State of Palestine and do everything it can at an international level to help to secure a viable two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict." The motion was one of five non-binding resolutions supporting recognition of Palestine adopted by parliaments of European states in late 2014, followed in December by a similar resolution adopted by the European Parliament, alongside official Swedish recognition of Palestinian statehood.
