Ratification of the PLO's Ten-Point Program (1974)

A political program adopted by the Palestinian National Council, the legislative body of the PLO, in Cairo on 8 June 1974. The document reaffirmed the PLO's rejection of Resolution 242 and the Geneva Peace Conference. Committing to armed struggle as the primary means of liberating Palestine, it resolved to establish a "national authority" over every liberated territory as a step towards achieving this goal. It further vowed to work with Jordanian, other Arab and socialist forces in "frustrating all the schemes of Zionism, reaction and imperialism."
