A speech given by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Bar-Ilan University on 14 June 2009. After addressing the Iranian nuclear threat and the global financial crisis, and reviewing the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict from an Israeli perspective, Netanyahu expressed his willingness to accept a Palestinian state alongside Israel, under the following conditions: recognition of Israel as a Jewish state; a solution to the issue of Palestinian refugees outside Israel; demilitarization of the future Palestinian state; defensible borders for Israel; and Jerusalem remaining the united capital of Israel.
