Tunisian President Bourguiba's Speech in Jericho (1965)

A speech given by Tunisian President Habib Bourguiba in Jericho, in the Jordanian-controlled West Bank. on 3 March 1965. Alluding to Tunisia's own struggle for independence, Bourguiba reaffirmed the support given at the 1964 Arab Summit to the Palestinian cause, vowing to liberate "every inch of the Arab nation that remains under foreign grip". He decried the policy of "all or nothing", that brought Arabs defeat in Palestine, and endorsed a "policy of stages" and the possibility of temporary compromise.
