A speech given by Israeli President Moshe Katsav on 15 August 2005, upon implementation of the Disengagement Plan, a unilateral Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and parts of the northern West Bank involving the relocation of around 10,000 Israeli settlers. Most of the speech was directed at the evacuated settlers, saluting their steadfastness, offering sympathy to their difficulties and pleading with them to cooperate with the withdrawal. The rest of the speech was devoted to a call for unity and consensus among the people of Israel.
