Israeli PM Rabin's Speech at Knesset Debate on the Israel-Jordan Peace Treaty (1994)

A speech given by Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin at the Knesset debate on confirmation of the Israel-Jordan Peace Treaty. During his speech, Rabin reviewed the history of Israeli-Jordanian hostilities, and the peace process that began with the 1991 Madrid Conference. He also summarized the main points of the treaty, as well as putting it in the context of the Israeli-Syrian peace process and Palestinian and Lebanese militancy. Following the debate, the treaty was approved by the Knesset with a vote of 105 For, 3 Against, 6 Abstaining. The treaty was signed at the Arava Crossing the next day.
