9th Arab League Summit in Baghdad - Denouncing Camp David Accords (1978)

A summit of the heads of Arab League countries, held in Baghdad, Iraq, on 2–5 November.1978. Following the signing of the Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt, which they read as contrary to the League’s solidarity with the Palestinians, the leaders invited Egypt to renounce the Accords. They also reaffirmed their commitment to a just peace based on Israeli withdrawal from all territories occupied during the 1967 Six Day War and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
