Protection of Holy Places Law 5727

A law enacted by the Knesset on 27 June 1967, shortly after the Six Day War. The law states that holy places in Israel are protected, and actions that could hamper access to them or hurt the feelings that members of religious communities have towards them are prohibited. It authorizes the Minister of Religious Affairs to enact regulations to that effect, such as the 1981 Regulations Regarding the Protection of the Jewish Holy Places.
