United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3237 (1974)

A resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 22 November 1974 by a vote of 95 For, 17 Against, 19 Abstaining, 7 Absent. Following the invitation extended to it a month earlier to participate in the General Assembly debate on the question of Palestine, the resolution accorded the PLO the status of an observer organization in the United Nations. It was followed by Resolution 43/177 of 1988, acknowledging the Palestinian Declaration of Independence, and Resolution 67/19 of 2012, according Palestine the status of a non-member observer State.
